About the Summit
The ITE Western District Student Leadership Summit is an annual gathering that equips student transportation engineers with the technical grounding, professional network, and leadership skills to shape how our region moves.
Our Mission
The Institute of Transportation Engineers (ITE) Western District spans seven western states — including California, Oregon, Washington, Hawaii, and Utah — and dozens of student chapters. Each year, the Summit brings that community together, alongside the transportation professionals who support them, to trade ideas across transit, active transportation, freight, traffic operations, and all things transportation.
Established in 2008, Cal Transpo is a student-run organization at UC Berkeley dedicated to building professional and technical skills for students interested in transportation. As an ITE student chapter, AREMA student chapter, and ASCE competition team, we provide our 70+ members various opportunities across the many sectors of the transportation industry. We are excited to host SLS in 2027 at the UC Berkeley campus!
Our central goal for the 2027 Summit is to empower students to better understand the transportation industry and build a network of professionals and peers, while also highlighting unique transportation systems around the Bay Area.
